Pig

As many of you know Aimee teaches Personal Finance at Virginia High School ... I drove with her to Richmond VA for a JumpStart Financial Literacy Summit!

Bag

It is a conference for teachers who teach Personal Finance.  It's all about these financial institutions providing free online resources for students to learn from in the classroom.

The course also teaches students about home buying and loans.  But one of the most important things in the process is saving for the big purchase.  So start feeding the pig now!

I have a little red house bank on my desk to remind people to start with saving!

Do you give out piggy banks when you meet with first time buyers? It may not be a bad marketing tool. Best of luck!

Rob Thomas Too cute I love this blog and oh so true, you know I have a friend who is Financial Consultant you would be surprised some very highly educated people do not save! Not sure where they think their future money is coming from!

Having money in the bank is very smart when you are looking to buy a home. It sends a good signal to your lender and you never know what might come up.

Rob, the Gators PIG may have been robbed! Let's see what the NCAA does. So many rules so easy to break! Enjoy your day!

Wonderful advice, Rob.  Many people today just don't save money at all and max out their credit cards.  That kind of behavior will keep them as renters forever.

Rob, it is difficult to start the process of saving for a home.    It is worth the goal, and FEED THE PIG!
